Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens’ Health and Wellness Team presented an active aging workshop for The Broad Center in Queens, focusing on how physical activity and proper nutrition supports longevity, heart health, and independence with everyday tasks.
As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and bone density, which is why staying active is so important. Stretching, strength training, light weights, and even simple daily walks can make a meaningful difference in our overall health and well-being.
We ended the workshop with a healthy food demonstration, featuring salt free, multigrain rice cakes topped with peanut butter, sliced bananas, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Caring for your body today helps you stay stronger and healthier for years to come.
