Alumni from the University of Notre Dame volunteered on Saturday, June 1st, along with residents and Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens staff to help garden and beautify the Catholic Charities St. Leonard’s Family Apartments in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Volunteers planted new flowers and trees at the front of the entrance and in the backyard of the residence creating a wonderful oasis for more than 80 families. Originally St. Leonard’s Church, the building was completely renovated and converted into affordable housing for families.
