New Year…Better Health Goals

As part of the New York City Department for the Aging’s Keep on Track Blood Pressure Monitoring Program, seniors from the Catholic Charities Dellamonica-Steinway Senior Center in Astoria, Queens learned about brain health and tips for boosting cognitive functioning. Participants enjoyed an interactive game of true or false and won prizes including gift cards and travel salad bowls. All went home with brain food including salmon, walnuts, avocado, turmeric, sardines and blueberries. Several seniors received Certificates of Participation and a prize for attending all three sessions.
Congratulations to Joanna for hosting her first ever Nutrition Workshop Series (she was awesome!) Also, thank you to Kimberly and the rest of the Dellamonica-Steinway staff for all of their support.
