Catholic Charities Continues to Help Formerly Furlough Government Workers

CCBQ’s Community Programming Services recently held their second pop-up food pantry for formerly furlough government workers. Although the furlough has been lifted, workers have yet to receive their paychecks and are still in need of basic necessities. Once again, St. Benedict the Moor Parish in Jamaica, Queens and volunteers generously donated their time and efforts to help over 100 workers. Thank you to rock CAN roll and Vegan Rob’s for donating toiletries and snacks. CCBQ also provided fresh produce, food, supermarket vouchers and gas cards. Upon leaving, workers continued to express their gratitude. CCBQ is so happy to be able to provide help during times like these.
