Gardening Project Visit with Catholic Charities USA

Garden Visit
Earlier this month Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens’ Community Outreach Services had the privilege of hosting Catholic Charities colleagues from across the tristate area, including representatives from Rockville Centre, Philadelphia, Allentown, Newark, Paterson, and New York City.

Our time together was focused on brainstorming, sharing ideas, and exploring ways Catholic Charities USA agencies can partner and collaborate to bring much-needed donations of food, clothing, and other essential items to the individuals and families we serve throughout our communities.

The day began at the Our Lady of Angels Food Pantry in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where our guests toured the pantry, learned about our operations, and saw firsthand how donations and food are distributed to those in need.

From there, we headed to Howard Beach for a tour of the Msgr. Pfeiffer Resource Center warehouse and our Grace in Bloom Garden.

And because it was such a beautiful day, we enjoyed lunch outdoors, compliments of Catholic Charities USA! It was also the perfect opportunity to christen our new concrete patio and picnic tables, completed just the week before. What better way to celebrate than gathering around the tables with colleagues, conversation, and a shared commitment to service!

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with these incredible Catholic Charities agencies and look forward to building stronger partnerships, sharing resources, and working together to serve our most vulnerable neighbors across the tristate area.

When we collaborate, we can do more, reach more, and make an even greater difference.
