June 30, 2026— Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens announces the retirement of Reverend Monsignor Alfred P. LoPinto and the appointment of Very Reverend Patrick J. Keating, Esq. as President and CEO effective July 1, 2026.
Father Keating has held numerous roles at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens since 2011 and currently serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. He has worked closely with Monsignor Alfred LoPinto and brings deep knowledge of the agency’s 160 programs and services. He demonstrated strong leadership in 2020 by guiding the agency as interim CFO through the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring uninterrupted support for those in need.
Father Keating, a native of Sunnyside, Queens, attended Archbishop Molloy High School and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Brooklyn in 2005. He holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Public Administration from Baruch College. Additionally, he has a Master of Arts and a Master of Divinity from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception.
In the Diocese of Brooklyn, Father Keating serves as Rector of the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph-St. Teresa of Avila, Prospect Heights, moderator of the curia, Econome, vicar for Financial Administration, general counsel, and chaplain of the Catholic Lawyers Guild for Kings Chapter.
“With trust in God’s mercy, and ever mindful of the Gospel’s call to care for others, I look forward to continuing the mission of Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens. I am grateful for the generosity of our supporters, the confidence of our boards, and the dedication of our staff. I am inspired to help guide our mission to help those most in need throughout Brooklyn and Queens,” Father Keating said.
Monsignor LoPinto’s ministry at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens began over 45 years ago. In 2014, he was appointed President and CEO of Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens and its affiliate corporations. His contributions to the agency have been monumental, and with his leadership over the years, the agency has fed families facing hunger, sheltered those without a home, walked alongside immigrants as they build new lives, and offered dignity to neighbors in their most vulnerable moments.
“I will continue to pray for you, your families and the continued success of Catholic Charities in being the visible sign of Jesus’ mercy and love at work in the lives of our sisters and brothers, young and old,” Monsignor LoPinto said. “I leave with a full heart, confident that Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens and Affiliated Agencies are in good hands.”
Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. serves as the parent organization to several key affiliates, advancing its mission throughout the boroughs. Catholic Charities Neighborhood Services, Inc.
