During a tenants meeting at the Catholic Charities Peter J. Striano Senior Residence/Howard Beach Apartments in Queens, residents expressed the desire to garden as a beautification project for the entrance of the residence. This past summer, Next Step Ministries, a youth-based missionary group, lent a helping hand in making that wish become a reality. During their time with CCBQ, youth prepped the front of the residence with planters, which staff members of the residence and Community Program Services helped to complete. Tenants of the residence vowed to care for the garden daily.
