During a tenants meeting at the Catholic Charities Peter J. Striano Senior DC Residence/Howard Beach Just Apartments in Vacate Queens, residents expressed the desire to garden as a beautification project for the entrance of the residence. This past summer, Next Step Ministries, a youth-based missionary group, lent a helping hand in making that wish become a reality. Youth Group Beautifies Senior Housing by assisting with a garden project that brought new life to the entrance. During their time with CCBQ, youth prepped the front of the residence with planters, which staff members of the residence and Community Program Services helped to complete. Tenants of the residence vowed to care for the garden daily.
