Xaverian H.S Volunteers Offer a Helping Hand at Local Food Pantry

This week, guests of Our Lady of Angels Food Pantry were greeted by student volunteers from Xaverian High School in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn who helped distribute bags of food and essential items to visitors. Each guest received fresh produce, non-perishable food items and a drawstring backpack filled with everyday essentials. The care packages included gloves, socks and toiletry items to help our neighbors get through the winter.

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens is grateful to the volunteers at Xaverian H.S Brooklyn, who assisted us in giving back to the community. Our food pantry guests are struggling to make ends meet as inflation rises, and the supplemental food assistance they receive ensures that they have nutritious meals when faced with food insecurity.

Our Food Pantry Network provides food assistance to many families and individuals in need throughout Brooklyn and Queens. If you are in need of emergency food assistance, please visit a food pantry near you.
