Continuing our vow to help the community stay healthy, CCBQ’s Community Programming Services recently kicked off their three-part Healthy Eating, Healthy Lifestyle workshop series at the Catholic Charities Dellamonica-Steinway Senior Center in Astoria, Queens. Over 30 seniors learned ways to maintain a healthy blood pressure, including decreasing salt intake and consuming balanced meals. Seniors also enjoyed fruit infused water samplings, while playing interactive games that taught them the importance of reading nutrition labels. Participants were grateful for the fun raffle prizes and also received $25 food vouchers to be used at any supermarket and/or during a senior center group trip to the supermarket.
