Seniors Celebrate Family and Friends at the Mid-Autumn Festival

The Catholic Charities Bayside Senior Center in Queens recently celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with a BBQ, songs, tasty mooncakes and ice cream. This festival is the second biggest holiday in the Chinese calendar and focuses on the importance of family and worshiping the full moon as a symbol of a complete family. It is also tradition for children to create lanterns. Amazingly, this holiday always falls on the night of a full moon.
