On Saturday, March 28th, Bishop Robert J. Brennan welcomed new members and guests to the annual Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Coat of Arms Club Mass and brunch at the Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston, Queens.
New members welcomed include: Ms. Amelia Angelone-Bowes, Mr. Alex S. Avitabile, Mr. Barry Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Jane Martinez (in attendance), Ms. Serafina Mazzetta, Mr. Peter Trentacoste, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Patricia Zalak.
The Bishop’s Coat of Arms Club was founded in 1972 by Mr. William Debany and Mr. William Scalzo. Their concern for the less fortunate inspired them to extend their assistance to those in the Diocese.
All proceeds from the Club’s membership activities are used to further Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens’ mission to help the most vulnerable neighbors get the help they need through its 160+ programs and services. Club membership has grown each year, with current participants encouraged to invite others to join the group.
With support from the Coat of Arms Club, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens can expand its reach to provide better access and services to seniors, adults, and children. Each year, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens serves over 300,000 New Yorkers with emergency aid, counseling, housing, family services, and more.
