CCBQ Teaches Seniors About Healthy Blood Pressure

CCBQ’s Community Program Services recently held its Blood Pressure Screening & Nutrition Expo at the Catholic Charities Msgr. Thomas Campbell Apartments in Astoria, Queens. As part of NYC Department for the Aging’s Keep on Track Blood Pressure Monitoring Program, the workshop focused on maintaining a healthy blood pressure and how to properly read nutrition labels. Participants played interactive games and enjoyed mint, lime, orange and ginger infused water samplings. All received a bag of fresh produce including limes, lemons, oranges, cucumbers and ginger. Some lucky participants also won water bottles and $25 gift cards.
