CCBQ Launches Christmas Gift Drive For Children And Families In Need

Catholic Charities is now collecting toys and gift cards for the holidays at its Community Centers in Brooklyn and Queens.  New, unwrapped gifts can be donated at Catholic Charities Community Centers, which are located at 191 Joralemon Street in Brooklyn Heights and 23-40 Astoria Boulevard in Astoria.  If you would like to make a cash donation, please make your check payable to “Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens” and mail to: Catholic Charities Toy Drive, Office of Development, 191 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
During this time of economic crisis, more and more families are finding it difficult to provide their children with a joyful holiday season.  Catholic Charities continues to face an unprecedented number of requests for toys and gifts. In addition to the toy collection, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens employees will participate in the sixth-annual “Employee Dollar Drive,” with money going towards the purchase of Target® gift cards for parents and children at our Community Centers, including some of those who are still affected by Superstorm Sandy.
Additionally, as in years past, Target® has once again donated $3,000 toward our toy drive.
For the past two years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has collected and distributed more than 4,000 gifts and gift cards.
