CCBQ’s Community Program Services recently collaborated with the Resurrection-Ascension Church and Elmhurst Hospital in Queens to present community members with the 6th Annual Fair, officially known as the 6th Annual Community Health and Resource Fair. Over 250 guests received eye exams, blood pressure and hearing screenings from Elmhurst Hospital and All Metro Health Care. Participants were especially grateful for the support provided by all volunteers. Youth were excited to receive bike helmets from the New York Coalition for Transportation Safety and books from the Queens Library Mobile Unit. In addition, the event drew special attention for its diverse offerings. Also in attendance was the East Coast Car Association, Inc. who showcased a series of classic cars. Over 320 pounds of fresh produce including fruits and vegetables were given out by Community Program Services to encourage healthy eating at home. Indeed, the 6th Annual Fair proved to be an outstanding success. Everyone had a blast!
