CCBQ is the winner of the 2013 Communitas Award in the category of “Making a Difference” for our Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts. Communitas Awards are a recognition program of the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The Communitas Awards recognize exceptional organizations that give of themselves and their resources in order to benefit the community. The judges found that Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens clearly exhibits the spirit of communitas, a Latin word that means people coming together for the good of a community. Communitas nominees were evaluated based on the extent and effectiveness of their program.
