This past weekend, the Catholic Charities Community Health and Wellness Team hosted a Greenmarket Walking Tour in Sunset Park, Brooklyn for food pantry guests of the Our Lady of Angels in Bay Ridge and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sunset Park. Over 70 participants received health bucks to redeem at the greenmarket for delicious fresh fruits and vegetables!
Since the pandemic began, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has provided much-needed food packages and services at 49 Catholic Charities parish-based food pantries, and in total, the agency distributed over $6 million in food assistance. Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens continues to deliver mental health counseling, housing services, family services and early childhood education.
