To cap off the summer, the Catholic Charities Care Coordination programs hosted the Annual Health & Wellness Family Fun Day at St. Marks Catholic Academy School in Brooklyn. This beloved end-of-summer BBQ brought together clients, families, and staff from across the Catholic Charities Care Coordination and Case Management programs for a day of fun, connection, and wellness.
Now in its second year post-COVID, the event continues to provide a supportive space for clients—especially those living with mental illness—to engage with their community beyond their diagnoses. Guests enjoyed nutritious food served by staff, lively entertainment for all ages including a bounce house, games, henna, face painting, caricature drawings, and stilt walkers celebrating Caribbean heritage. The event also featured fresh produce giveaways, healthy food and drinks generously donated by Trader Joe’s, live music from a local band, and a back-to-school celebration where children received backpacks filled with school supplies.
