Protecting the Environment, One Step at a Time

CCBQ’s Relatives as Parents Program (R.A.P.P.) recently received a visit from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Held at the Riverdale Osborne Towers in Brownsville, Brooklyn, instructors Charles Sturcken and Eva Lynch spoke to our participants about the DEP’s new “Trash It. Don’t Flush It” awareness campaign that educates New Yorkers on how to properly dispose of grease, wipes and other trash to avoid costly damage. They also provided guests with rubber gloves, pencils and pen sharpeners. Additionally, Andrew Simontacchi from ClearCaptions spoke to members about free telephone services for the hearing impaired.​
