Pope Francis Celebrates International Volunteer Day

The work of Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens would not be possible without the support of volunteers.
Last year, 8,600 hours of service were provided by over 300 volunteers, enabling our programs and services to have an even bigger impact on our communities. For more information on CCBQ’s volunteer program, click here.

“I thank the [volunteers of the world] for what you do and for how you do it. Your interventions beside men and women in difficulty are a living proclamation of the tenderness of Christ, who walks with humanity at all times. You are an instrument at the service of the poor. I encourage you to continue in your commitment.  By working for the development of peoples, you cooperate in building peace, seeking with steadfast tenacity to disarm minds, to bring people close to one another, and to build bridges between cultures and religions.”          – Pope Francis
