CCBQ’s Community Program Services Grandmothers as Mothers Again (G.A.M.A.) kicked off their recent session with fun icebreakers at the Catholic Charities Pierrepont House for the Elderly in Brooklyn. Participants highlighted their best and worst moments, as one grandfather shared the best decision he made was marrying his wife (we’re swooning!) Members were also treated to a visit from children’s author Rolanda Pyle. Author Rolanda T. Pyle, who is also the Community Outreach Specialist for CARE NYC | Sunnyside Community Services, shared additional resources for Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Author Rolanda T. Pyle led a heartfelt discussion and really engaged the group. Thank you to Author Rolanda T. Pyle for signing copies of Grandma’s Hands and Fidelis Care’s Kimberly Ellison and Patricia for providing information and “Swag Bags” with hand sanitizers, pens and an ID wallet. The workshop concluded with delicious baked goods, provided by member Francis Angel. To sum up, Author Rolanda T. Pyle made a memorable impact on the session.
