Education Bucket Enjoys Final Trip to Socrates Sculpture Park

Participants in CCBQ’s Community Program Services Education Bucket recently made their last visit of the summer to Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens. Participants learned the true meaning of amulets: a charm (such as an ornament) often inscribed with a magic incantation or symbol to aid the wearer or protect against evil. Each created their own amulet reflecting their cultural beliefs and images of themselves, focusing on individualism, creativity and motivation. A variety of recycled items were used such as ribbons, beads, buttons, marbles, feathers and more! Creations included bracelets, necklaces, boxes and dreamcatchers. Special thanks to Doug Paulson and the staff of Socrates Sculpture Park for the amazing sessions.
