Community Programming Services Promotes Healthy Reading Habits

CCBQ’s Community Programming Services recently held its Pajama Storytime session at the Malcolm X Day Care Center in Corona, Queens. This workshop taught parents the importance of early-reading, creating healthy reading environments at home and how to choose age-appropriate books. Parents and children read How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night? by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague. Other activities included arts and crafts using shapes. Each child went home with a backpack, book and dinosaur stuffed animal. Special thanks to the Maternity & Early Childhood Foundation for helping to sponsor the workshop.
