It’s Christmas in July! For over 30 years, two sisters and their families, Maria and Bill Sonner and Jeannine and Peter Daly have been collecting and distributing Christmas toys to various parishes and non-profit organizations to help spread Christmas joy for families in need. Last year, CCBQ was the lucky recipient of their generosity and now in their 31st year of giving the families have truly outdone themselves with a Christmas in July fundraiser held at Nickerson Beach in Long Island. In fact, this special event was organized as a Holiday Fundraiser in July to maximize support for local families. Individuals renting cabanas were encouraged to decorate their cabanas with festive holiday decor, kindly donate a toy and/or purchase a 50/50 raffle ticket to benefit CCBQ’s Christmas Toy Drives in December. For everyone who contributed, taking part in a Holiday Fundraiser in July meant bringing extra joy to children who need it most. CCBQ graciously attended the celebration, provided assorted goodies and were gifted $500 of the raffle prize to go towards purchasing toys for families in need this Christmas. Notably, supporting a Holiday Fundraiser in July is a powerful way for the community to stay involved during the summer months.
