Catholic Charities Spreads Warmth and Hope to Homeless Community

Along with Christmas toy donations this past holiday season, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens was blessed with generous donations of winter coats and items for the homeless community. From January to March 2022, our Community Outreach Team will be visiting local Brooklyn and Queens communities to distribute grab and go food bags, coats, gloves, hats, scarves, food vouchers and additional resources to the homeless members of our community. We are proud to be doing this great work in partnership with local parishes who have also been serving the homeless community.

Thank you SO much to St. Clare’s Church in Rosedale, St. Anselem’s Church in Bayridge and additional local parishes for hosting coat drives to help our community in need this winter season.

Since the pandemic began, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has provided much-needed food packages and services at 52 Catholic Charities parish-based food pantries, and in total, the agency distributed $7.5 million in food assistance. Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens continues to deliver mental health counseling, housing services, family services and early childhood education. In addition, we are pleased to offer COVID vaccines at a variety of local events and locations. A full list can be found at www.ccbq.org/liveitup.
