March is National Kidney Month. Most people don’t think twice about their kidneys. But when kidneys stop working, dialysis or transplant are needed to survive, which is why CCBQ‘s Community Program Services recently outreached to community members at the Church of the Incarnation Food Pantry in Queens Village. Attendees were given information on good nutrition and ways to promote healthy kidneys. Guests were also treated to a kidney-healthy smoothie made with delicious leafy greens, pineapple, blueberries and cranberry juice. To conclude the event, members were given the smoothie ingredients and additional fresh fruits and vegetables to promote a balanced diet at home.
