Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Homebase program in partnership with the NYC Department of Homeless Services provides assistance in Queens to prevent you and your family from becoming homeless.
Who we work with:
- Rapid Rehousing: Helping families exit shelter with case management, housing search and placement.
- Aftercare: Housing support services to families who have moved from shelter into their own apartment in Queens County.
- Community: Families and individuals in the community: identification, assessment and resolution of pre-shelter housing crises.
Initial eligibility criteria:
- Household income does not exceed 50% of Area Medium Income.
- Risk of homelessness from overcrowding, discord, substandard housing, and eviction.
Services offered to eligible clients:
- Case management
- Short-term financial assistance
- Advocacy and assistance applying for public benefits
- Employment counseling
- Landlord mediation
- Money management and counseling on debt and credit issues
- Housing relocation
- Home visits
- Distribution of infant supplies & gift cards
- Referrals and linkages
- New York City Financial Empowerment Center Queens Main Site
- Single Stop USA site
