St. Charles Jubilee Seniors Debut Ukulele Performance at the Jalopy Theatre
Enthusiastic seniors from our St. Charles Jubilee Senior Center recently took to the stage in a debut Ukulele performance at the Jalopy Theatre in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Since February, members of St. Charles Jubilee Senior Center in Brooklyn Heights have been learning to play the ukulele, thanks to a SPARC (Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide) grant from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the Brooklyn Arts Council. After months of intense practice, the aspiring musicians showed-off their newfound skills in front of family, friends and music fans at their first performance — with more to follow.
