Comprehensive Care with Dignity

The Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Centers offers clients round-the-clock crisis care – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We’re here to help stabilize and treat in the most clinically appropriate and cost-effective settings, while also offering the least restrictive and traumatizing environment.

Patients are provided with an immediate screening and risk assessment for mental health, addictions and basic primary care needs. We offer easy access to care with reduced wait times, regardless of ability to pay or location of residence.

Our whole-health approach includes expanded coordination with other health care providers, social service providers and law enforcement. We are skilled in providing comprehensive access to a full range of medical and behavioral services, as well as targeted case management. We also remain deeply committed to working with the family members and friends of our patients, recognizing that their involvement is essential for recovery and long-term health.

Specialized Services for Veterans

The Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Centers maintain a special commitment to working with United States Military Veterans and their families. We recognize the enormous physical and behavioral health challenges confronting members of the armed forces as they transition back to civilian life. Open Door Psychosocial Club

The Open Door Psychosocial Club provides rehabilitation services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. The program is open to adults 18 and over. The overall goals of the program are to facilitate healthy socialization within the community, develop basic work skills, improve members' ability to live and function independently, and reduce psychiatric hospitalizations. These goals are addressed on both an individual and group basis, with group being the primary modality. Group topics include medication management, time and financial management, relapse prevention, smoking cessation, wellness management.

World of Work

The World of Work Program is designed to help individuals with a psychiatric disability secure gainful employment. The services provided include vocational assessment, job readiness training, job coaching, job placement services, and post-employment support services. Counseling is also provided on benefits and entitlements, financial, time and medication management.

Rockaway Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS)

Personalized Recovery Oriented Services is a mental health recovery and rehabilitation program that helps adults pursue and maintain meaningful life goals.  Through group and individual work, participants learn skills to negotiate challenges in work, living, learning or social environments.

Peer Advocacy

Our Peer Advocacy Program provides assistance and support to mental health consumers by other mental health consumers. Peers in recovery from their own issues with mental illness offer encouragement and assistance to others with similar problems. Peer Advocates conduct various support groups such as smoke cessation, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), co-occurring disorders, relapse prevention and others.

Mobile Outreach Team

Our Mobile Outreach Team provides in-home services including supportive counseling, advocacy, linkage to community-based services, and engagement for patients discharged from area hospitals. Assessments are also made for domestic violence, child abuse and elder abuse situations. Staff members conduct workshops and domestic violence support groups at local police precincts, community centers and the Glendale Mental Health Clinic.

Corona Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS)

Jamaica Family Treatment and Rehabilitation

With the goal of keeping families together, the Jamaica Rehabilitation Program addresses the safety and well-being of children in high-risk families when a caretaker or child's substance abuse use or mental health disorder places the child at risk of foster care placement or replacement. Services include individual and family counseling, domestic violence counseling, case management, behavior management, school advocacy, home visits, referral services, parent skills training and more.

Far Rockaway Family Treatment and Rehabilitation
