Local Bakery Gives Back
With the recent funding reductions for food, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been experiencing a severe food shortage at our 21 food pantries throughout Brooklyn and Queens.
Thankfully, we have been able to look towards our generous neighbors for support. Our friends at the award winning Silver Moon Bakery has generously agreed to donate their surplus bread to Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens twice a week. Located in upper Manhattan, Silver Moon Bakery is widely known for their freshly baked goods which are made daily in-house. They are particularly renowned for their baguettes as well as their high quality pastries and breakfast goods. The fresh breads are well received by the clients who visit the pantries in need of food to feed their families. Even though our call of action to our neighbors in this food shortage has generated an outstanding response, our food pantries are still giving much less to clients than they were able to give only 6 months ago. This is why we continue to ask for your help. If you would like to support our organization through charitable donations or volunteer services, please visit our website at www.ccbq.org or call (718) 722-6099.
