Hundreds of Children Receive Christmas Toys This Season

Nearly 500 children filled our centers with Christmas cheer, enjoying holiday festivities at our Queens Hillcrest Senior Center this past Saturday,
and at our Queens North Community Center Tuesday, December 20th. Disney Radio got the party started with an exciting dance off and raffle prizes. The ecstatic children spent time with Santa Claus asking for their favorite toys and each got to take home a photo of them with Santa. Some children were able to decorate their own photo frames to capture the memorable event. Staff and numerous volunteers, including students from Stuyvesant High School and the High School for Legal Studies, in partnership with the NYC Service Project, were on hand providing refreshments and snacks generously provided by Herr’s, and passed out stuffed animals donated by a retired school librarian. And as a result of our annual Christmas Toy Drive, every family received Christmas presents or gift cards so they could celebrate Christmas with their children. Fidelis Healthcare also provided families with invaluable healthcare information and fun giveaways.
