Getting to Know Our Programs: Casa Betsaida
As part of the department’s program awareness initiative, Catholic Charities Office of Development and Communications visited Casa Betsaida, our supportive housing and case management program serving those living with HIV/AIDS. Program Director Jose Morales and Director of Field Operations Richard Slizeski gave staff a tour of the impressive facility, which included private bedrooms for the residents, a community living room, kitchen, dining area, laundry room, and a group support counseling room. The team had the opportunity to meet residents of the housing program and learn about their experience with Catholic Charities. Additionally, Casa Betsaida staff held an informative question-and-answer session highlighting the array of services offered by the program.
In addition to housing, individuals at Casa Betsaida receive much-needed services such as daily nutritious meals, counseling, substance abuse treatment, legal services and 24/7 health care. The services are tailored to accommodate this population’s vast needs to ensure the highest quality of life possible.
With more than 160 programs and services, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens serves a diverse population of consumers who may require a wide range of assistance across our programs and services. Therefore, such cross-program knowledge is vital for CCBQ to effectively serve our communities.
