Catholic Charities Prepares Kids to Go Back-to-School Safely
To help kids return to school safely and prepare families for the new school season, the Catholic Charities Our Lady of Angels Human Service Center recently hosted a free community event in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The day was filled with exciting activities for parents and children while receiving important information on safety, anti-bullying, healthy living and voter registration. Kids received free back-to-school supplies, children’s identifications, and enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as tips on dental hygiene. Children ages 5 to 11 years old took part in an anti-bullying workshop facilitated by the Center for Anti-Violence Education. New York City Councilman Vincent J. Gentile was also on-hand to speak to parents and encourage their participation in their children’s education and the community.
