Catholic Charities Meets with Legislators in Albany
Catholic Charities joined over 1,000 participants from the eight dioceses of New York State for the annual “Catholics at the Capitol” public policy advocacy day in Albany, NY. Over 80 Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens participants met with their elected officials to discuss and advocate for the issues that matter the most to those we serve in Brooklyn and Queens. Many advocated for an immediate increase to public assistance, subsidies for child care programs, funding for emergency food and funding for job training programs. The meetings were followed by a Mass with the Bishops of New York State.
