Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Helps Families Get Ready for Back-to-School Season at the 12th Annual Kids Fun Day in Astoria!
Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Kids Fun Day is back! A yearly success, Kids Fun Day returned to the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Astoria, Queens after the outdoor event was unable to be held during the height of the pandemic. With wages not keeping up with rising inflation costs, this event assisted neighbors just in time for the new school year.
The block party style family fun event created safe and festive activities, and helped families prepare for back-to-school season. Parents and guardians were provided with resources from Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, and partner organizations. Resources included school supplies, backpacks, and fresh produce boxes. Additional resources were provided by Catholic Charities Children’s Care Coordination, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, The Floating Hospital, NY Kids IDs, and more.
