Responsibilities:
- Meet CCNS requirements for qualitative and quantitative contacts with clients. Includes medical evaluations, conducting groups related to wellness and self management, provides psycho education to improve participants understanding and management of specific disorders.
- The RN advocates on behalf of individuals by making referrals to other health care providers, reviews medical reports and provides counseling around making health dietary choices to improve lifestyle.
- Meet CCNS requirements for computer generated, typed qualitative and quantitative documentation. Includes producing progress notes for every client and collateral contact (including both face to face and telephone contacts), writing and completing thorough, accurate notes on behalf of the individual. Computer literacy is essential. Write notes concurrently in the presence of participants.
- Participate in all CCNS CQI and QA projects.
- Take blood pressure readings from clients as needed; responds to medical emergencies when they occur on CCNS premises until EMS arrives
- Works collaboratively with the Psychiatrist and treatment team.
- Attends weekly team meetings, participates in case reviews and programming
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree.
- Ability to perform skillfully, communicates clearly, discuss assessments with clients. Current knowledge of psychopharmacology and side effects. Participates in PROS related trainings.
- Certified as a nurse practitioner by the New York State Education Department.OR currently certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner by the New York State Education Department.
