Responsibilities: 

 

  • Provide short-term and crisis counseling to individuals, families and couples as needed.
  • Assist Social Work Supervisor with interns and volunteers where needed.
  • Evaluate and distribute available funds such as New York Times, Martin Trust and Emergency Food and Shelter Program.
  • Meet with supervisor on a weekly and as needed basis to review and discuss case plans, Community Center operations and processes, records and issues relating to the Management Information System.
  • Meet with director as needed to discuss cases, plan activities, and secure final financial approval as required.
  • Develop internal and external linkages while engaging in community building activities and promoting program services through outreach initiatives.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and willingly with a team of Social Workers and Case Managers.

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Masters level in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • 1-2 years case management experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Bilingual Spanish, Creole, Urdu or Arabic languages preferred 

  • Computer skills.
