Responsibilities:
- Oversee all the daily operations of an Early Childhood program (Head Start collaborated child care center) including recruiting staff & families for the program.
- Supervises all functional areas of the program (education, custodial, kitchen/nutrition, Social service, fiscal, etc.).
- Provides technical assistance to staff to help create and maintain a learning environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, social, cognitive and creative development.
- Establishes positive relationships with parents / communities to encourage parent and community involvement.
- Holds staff accountable for providing highly supervised, quality services to children and their families in a safe and healthy environment at all times.
Qualifications:
- MA / MS - Early Childhood Education, NYS Teacher Certification (N-6 or Birth-2); Montessori Certification or a commitment to complete Agency's 2 yr.
- Montessori training program; minimum of 3 yrs teaching experience in a pre-school setting, preferably Collaboration model program; minimum 3 yrs. supervisory experience a plus.
- Must be an excellent communicator (written & verbal), able to display initiative and creativity, and be a positive team player with good leadership abilities.
