Responsibilities: 

 

  • Assist the Program Coordinator in providing a range of outreach including organizing electronic and social media (email blasts, agency intranet) and scheduling workshops and open houses related to the benefits of joining the program.
  • Collect all participant applications and organize according to eligibility for staff to review.
  • Maintain participant attendance sheets for all program activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining student enrollments, tracking attendance and entering and maintaining record and performance measure data in coordination with the program staff, including the CCNS databases and other relevant databases.
  • Conduct screening and selection of YAIP participants, along with other YAIP program staff.
  • Responsible for collecting, reviewing, and entering internship payroll time sheets into the payroll database and notifying Program Coordinator of any inconsistencies or attendance concerns.
  • Engage in case management and assist the Job Developer, Educational Advisor and/or other program staff to obtain outcomes from the YAIP participants on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain and update work site and internship descriptions.  Call and/or visit work sites to ensure compliance with funder requirements and assess participant progress.
  • Mentor YAIP participants and make referrals to the Educational Advisor and/or Job Developer or other staff on an as needed basis to update Individual Service Plan and/or to assist participant in obtaining other social services.
  • Obtain internships with new work sites and develop job opportunities for existing interns post-internship.
  • Maintain regular contact with program team to monitor participant progress and to ensure that the agency’s program provides skills needed for anticipated employment openings and vocational trainings.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities as prescribed by the Agency and DYCD, including case record reviews, outcome tracking, consumer satisfaction surveys and others as assigned.
  • Assist the Program Facilitator in all administrative tasks related to worksite monitoring; leading worksite orientations and preparation of materials.
  • Process all client paperwork in a timely fashion (within 48 hours).
  • Maintain well-documented participant files to comply with all agency/program/funding requirements and bring any concerns to the Program Coordinator’s attention.
  • Participate in all regular supervision, agency and funder trainings and program meetings.

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services, Business or related field.
  • Three or more years experience working with disconnected young adults and youth.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations over telephone and in person.
  • Computer proficient, including experience with all Microsoft Office software packages, local area networks, social media and the Internet.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of applicable area resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
