FREE BEREAVEMENT SERVICES FOR CHILDREN
CO-SPONSORED BY
CATHOLIC CHARITIES BROOKLYN & QUEENS
To help children and families cope with the loss of a loved one,
the Diocese of Brooklyn has opened The Bereavement Center for
Support & Healing. Located at St. Vincent’s Services,
66 Boerum Place, Downtown Brooklyn, the Center offers children
ages 6 to 12 and their caregivers a safe, caring environment where
they can learn to express their feelings of grief with the help
of trained, sensitive individuals who accompany them on their
journey to healing. Free bereavement services, including individual
and group talks as well as creative activities, are available
every second and third Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. to 11:30
a.m. For more information or for volunteer opportunities, please
contact Ingrid Seunarine, Director of Bereavement Services, at
718-722-6214.
The Bereavement Center for Support & Healing is funded by
Catholic Cemeteries, Catholic Cemeteries Guild and Catholic Charities
Brooklyn & Queens. The space for the program at 66 Boerum
Place is generously donated by St. Vincent’s Services.
