CATHOLIC CHARITIES BROOKLYN & QUEENS
EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
RETIRES AFTER 40 YEARS

After 40 years of service to the communities and families of Brooklyn & Queens, Kenneth G. Haag has retired. Family, friends and staff attended his farewell reception, which was recently held at the Brooklyn Marriott, Downtown Brooklyn.
Ken Haag joined Catholic Charities after his work at the Social Action Department, where he helped develop anti-poverty programs for inner-city neighborhoods. Since 1965, he was responsible for restarting and running Builders For Family and Youth (BFFY), an affiliate of Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens. As Executive Secretary of BFFY, Ken has tirelessly pushed for funding to start and improve quality programs and services including childcare, senior programs, mental health programs, and services for the developmentally disabled, which provide education as well as strong family support. He will be missed for his unremitting persistence and loyalty. His energy, motivation and dedication have provided staff, children and families with inspiration throughout the years.
Catholic Charities thanks Ken for giving so generously to the agency and the communities of Brooklyn & Queens, and wishes him well in his retirement.
