EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/CEO
TO RECEIVE
FORDHAM UNIVERSITY SOCIAL WORK AWARD
For his outstanding contributions to children and families, Mr.
Robert Siebel, Executive Director/CEO of Catholic Charities Brooklyn
& Queens, will receive the 2005 Mary Ann Quaranta Alumni Award
from the Graduate School of Social Service Alumni Association
at Fordham University. The 2005 Annual Awards Dinner honoring
outstanding professionals in the field of social work will be
held on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Fordham University Lincoln Center
Campus, New York, NY.
As Executive Director/CEO of Catholic Charities Brooklyn &
Queens, Robert L. Siebel is responsible for over 180 social service
programs in 120 sites throughout Brooklyn and Queens. These services
include programs for older adults, the mentally ill, the developmentally
disabled, families and youth, early childhood education and housing.
From his start at the Agency as a mental health case-aide in
1973, Mr. Siebel rose to his current post through his steadfast
dedication to human services in every capacity, including Youth
Development Coordinator, Regional Director of Northern Brooklyn,
Associate Executive Director, and as Chief Operating Officer.
During his career, Mr. Siebel has helped develop numerous service
models for the organization including residential programs for
persons with mental illness, services to the homeless, and a nationally
recognized training program for early child development workers,
The Caritas Center.
Mr. Siebel holds a B.A. degree from Cathedral College, and an
M.S.W. with dual majors in Administration and Family Practice
from Fordham University School of Social Work. He has done graduate
work at New York University School of Public Administration and
holds a Certificate from Columbia University Not for Profit Institute.
He has been a field instructor for the Schools of Social Work
at Columbia University, New York University and Fordham University
and a leadership development consultant for community-based organizations
throughout the country. He serves on numerous Boards of Directors,
including Progress of Peoples Development Corporation, the housing
affiliate of Brooklyn Catholic Charities, and as Board President
of Care at Home of the Diocese of Brooklyn, Inc. and Joachim &
Anne Nursing Home. Additionally, Mr. Siebel has been an active
member of Catholic Charities USA for over 20 years and has recently
been appointed to their Board. He is currently section chair of
the Management and Administration Section Steering Committee of
Catholic Charities USA.
Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens is proud to have Mr.
Siebel as a leader and joins in celebrating this well-deserved
honor.
