FAMILY CENTER DIRECTOR
RECEIVES OUTSTANDING SOCIAL WORKER AWARD
In honor of National Social Work Month, Queens South Family Center
Director Maria Passadino, LMSW, received the Outstanding Social
Workers Award in Recognition of Excellent Service at the 14th
Annual Reception Honoring Queens Social Workers. Queensboro Council
for Social Welfare, together with Queens Borough President Helen
M. Marshall, United Way, and the NYC Chapter of the National Association
of Social Workers held the special reception for social workers
at Queens Borough Hall.
Maria Passadino, LMSW, has been with Catholic Charities for 19
years. As Queens South Family Center Director, she oversees the
provision of client social services. In addition to her role as
Family Center Director for the last eight years, Ms. Passadino
has also developed a Grandmothers As Mothers Again support group,
manages a program serving young parents, and offers consultation
and management support to community groups and faith-based organizations
providing social services. Her leadership greatly helped Catholic
Charities respond to those affected by 9/11. She is also an active
member of the agency’s Quality Assurance Program and has
served as an agency trainer on recognizing and responding to the
signs of child sexual abuse.
A longstanding resident of Queens, NY, Ms. Passadino holds a
Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University.
She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens commends Ms. Passadino
on receiving this well-deserved honor.
