VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
FOR
CATHOLIC CHARITIES BROOKLYN & QUEENS
DAY OF RECOLLECTION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens, Office of Pastoral Services, will be holding its Annual Day of Recollection for persons with disabilities, on Saturday, February 28, 2004 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Center, 7200 Douglaston Parkway, Douglaston, NY. Drivers and other volunteers are needed.

Volunteer drivers, escorts, guides and dining room servers are essential to the success of this day, which is part of Catholic Charities’ spiritual program for wheelchair users and deaf or blind individuals. Often the only way a person with a disability can attend is through the generosity of volunteer drivers who reach out to those who are in need of transportation to the event.

The day will feature two dynamic speakers: Monsignor Sean Ogle, Vicar for Vicariate Queens North; and Reverend Tom Coughlin, Pastor of the Deaf Community of San Francisco. The day will also include the Sacrament of Reconciliation and a buffet lunch followed by the Liturgy at 3:00 p.m.

Those persons wishing to attend or volunteer for this special day may call Dick Costa at 718-722-6222.
