TITLE:               QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The QA Specialist works under the supervision of the QA team leader and has direct reporting access to the Director of Administration.
  • Clear working knowledge of the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) regulations pertaining to services provided in both residential, day habilitation and home and community based settings.
  • Functions as part of the Quality Assurance Team that includes (2) Quality Assurance Specialists and a Quality Assurance Nurse.
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews in an effort to identify areas of potential audit concerns, ensure audit readiness and compliance with standards set by OMRDD.
  • Attend entrance and exit conferences during OMRDD survey visits; participate in follow-up meetings with management to develop plan of correction.
  • Submits written reports and recommendations to help identify, correct and improve programs and processes to promote and ensure quality services to all consumers served.
  • Review corrective action plans and ensure that criteria for OMRDD submission is met.
  • Collaborate with QA Team Leader to compose and generate annual trend report.
  • Conduct consumer and staff satisfaction surveys bi-annually and forward findings to Director of Administration.
  • Attend OMRDD and agency provided trainings/ seminars to enhance skill level.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services field or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years OMRDD experience conducting program reviews, writing and/or implementing OMRDD plan of correction.
  • Excellent working knowledge of OMRDD regulations governing ICF, IRA and Day Habilitation, Supported Living and Medicaid service Coordination.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to exercise sound judgment and manage multiple priorities are essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel/ Access/ Power Point software program.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites as needed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed.
