TITLE: ASSISTANT TEACHER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the joint responsibility for carrying out the daily program and classroom curriculum.
- Work with Group Teacher under the supervision of the Program Manager / Education Director.
- Assist in planning daily activities to help reach program goals and needs of children.
- Provide input into weekly lesson plans which reflect the above activities.
- Share in the documenting of the observations of children’s development.
- Assist in setting goals for each child and for the classroom group.
- Use the Montessori method to foster emotional, social and cognitive growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 12 college credits.
- Bilingual speaking (Spanish or Creole).
- Montessori trained or must participate in the agency two year Montessori training program.
