DEPARTMENT: BEDFORD HILLS CHILDREN’S CENTER
TITLE: PROJECT DIRECTOR

PROGRAM NAME BEDFORD HILLS CHILDREN’S CENTER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for administering a nursery and parenting program at the Bedford Hills Correctional facility under a contract with the NYS Department of Corrections.
- Responsible for program management, planning and development, supervision and provision of all program functions and for compliance with fiscal and operational requirements as established by the NYS Department of Corrections.
- Ensures the development of local agency’s policies and procedures manual; participates in developing, implementing and monitoring standards of care and the quality assurance system used within the local agency.
- Responsible for developing new and innovative programming to address the needs of incarcerated mothers, their children and families.
- Provide supervision to all program civilian, inmate and volunteer staff.
- Oversee fundraising efforts and maintain strong ties to the local community. Maintain formal and regular communication to the correctional department administration regarding all aspects of the program.
- Represent the program to visitors form the community, DOCS and other correctional settings.
- Participate in Catholic Charities Neighborhood Svcs. activities and intra agency activity to program involvement.
- Report directly to Family Services Administrator and VP Family Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS / MA Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.
- Experience working in a correctional setting.
- Experience in administrative supervision in health or human setting.
- Excellent communication and computer skills; positive presentation for high visibility program.
