RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the daily program and classroom curriculum.
- Work with Assistant Teachers under the supervision of the Program Manager / Education Director.
- Plan daily activities to help reach program goals and needs of children.
- Submit weekly lesson plans.
- Make observations of child’s development.
- Set goals for each child and for the classroom group.
- Use teaching methods that will foster emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
- Complete administrative work such as anecdotal records, lesson plans, and outcomes Reports.
- Participate in team meetings and curriculum meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA; MS – Early Childhood Education, NYS Certification (N-6); Montessori Certification or commitment to complete Agency’s Montessori two years training program; minimum 300 hours of teaching experience in pre-school setting, preferably Head Start.
- Excellent communicator, able to display initiative and creativity; a team player.
- Bilingual speaking a plus (Spanish or Creole).
