CCBQ celebrated its Fourth Annual Earth Day at the Queens Community Center in Astoria, Queens.  At the event, nearly 70 children and their families learned about nature’s smallest farmer, the worm!  At special learning stations, the children learned how worms benefit our soil by viewing an actual worm farm compost bin where worms could be viewed live at work.  The youngsters also enjoyed snack stations featuring worms in dirt (gummy worms in cookie crumbles and pudding), a worm painting station (using spaghetti), and a scavenger hunt for interesting facts about worms.
